Had the opportunity to train at The Refinery in Kuala Belait while working in Brunei, and it was a fantastic experience. The dojo is well-maintained with great facilities, and they offer both Gi and No-Gi classes in the evenings.  I was even able to rent a fresh clean Gi for each session. The standout, though, were the people—everyone was incredibly welcoming and a genuine pleasure to train with. Professor Nobel Lee is highly knowledgeable and runs excellent classes that cater to all skill levels. I’d highly recommend dropping in if you’re in the area.

I attended multiple personal training sessions under the guidance of Mr. Lee. He is very professional, listens to your needs and adapts the training sessions to help you meet your goals. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture but the fitness area is very well maintained and clean. Especially if you catch one of those early morning sessions, you get to see the sunrise while you work out. That hits different than a standard training between 4 walls. I was on a business trip at Kuala Belait. Didn't know there was a JiuJitsu gym in town until my client told me. I didn't even bring my Gi during this trip. Decided to visit the place and apparently it's walking distance from the hotel that I stayed. The reception was very welcome and they provide me a fresh and clean Gi that I could rent, including the belt. All color belts are available for rent. The gym itself is very clean with enough space to roll. Coach Nobel who lead the class was very clear in his instructions, and his clam teaching style gives a great vibe to the gym. The other members also were very welcoming and friendly. Managed to drill and roll with couple of them and enjoyed every seconds of it. Highly recommend place at KB if you want to train BJJ, whether you're a beginner or already a seasoned practitioner. Would definitely revisit Refinery if I ever back visit this oil town. I had the pleasure of visiting The Refinery Oil Town Jiu Jitsu (B5, 1st Floor, Bangunan Maju, Jalan Bunga Raya, Kuala Belait KA1131) and it was an excellent experience. As a BJJ professor, I was really impressed by the level of instruction, the attention to detail, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The coaches are passionate and knowledgeable, and the students showed great respect, discipline, and enthusiasm on the mats. Even as a visitor, I felt immediately at home and enjoyed some great training and rolls with the team.
